*lol* sounds about right...when I texted my friends the cover of the TOH-album and captioned it "my new crush"...the main reaction was "*lol*...you do know he's gay?"

I think Adam can seperate if it is meant complementary, in the sense, that he's eligible...or more superficial that he's damn hot (for example Mel B) or if the person perceives it as a flaw

...btw. Adam commented on his last Instagram post: "Lotta unsocited advice on here. Thanks! I'm ok."...seemed to quite have bothered him, his words are quite clear...not so diplomatic as we know he can be...

I find 'you know he's gay' annoying too. What kind of a response are people who say this expecting
and what does that say about themselves that they want you to know?

It boils down to the "boxes" Adam talks about on his "soap-box" during his concerts-- and some we are proud to check... and others just seperate us. I think he is proud to check "gay" because that's what he is. No closet...just straightforward, honest and matter-of-fact.

In my mind... and I'm having difficulty formulating my thoughts... I think having Adam be so forthright and upfront helps one understand him better. I know many of us long-time fans feel more a sense of closeness with him personally---and, at the same time, like me, have gone out of our way to learn and understand more about the LBGT community because of him and his advocacy.

With Adam, knowing he is gay is knowing that he is left or right-handed, American or British, male or female, Christian or Jew, etc., etc.

He is gay... so what? That's just a part of this extraordinarily talented, absolutely loveable/likeable and complex young men that we admire so much! Knowing it IS important... just NOT paramount.

So...now that we have THAT out of the way.. let's move on to being fans, and bringing new ones into the fold.

FYI - I would SO like to have explained myself better than I just did. Many of you long-timers may understand what I'm trying to convey.

It's kind of like answering... "Yeah, he's gay....and so?"

THEN, you tell and show them ALL the OTHER wonderful things he is as well!!!

@lollymop they didn't want me to get my hopes up and then realize I'd never stand a chance...as Nanbert sayed..."so what?"

Interestingly enough, when I talked to my friends about Adam on other oocations the subject never came up again...

What I try to remind myself of is that it is easy, too easy, to think someone is wierd, judge them, but if you got to look behind the mascarade, really see the person for who they are you'd think differently of them...

If you have a crush on a gay star, does that mean you're going to date him? NO.
If you have a crush on a straight star, does that mean you're going to date him? NO
Doesn't matter what orientation he is. What matters is the crush from afar.

It's hard to put your finger on exactly why it's one of the first things that comes up, (closely followed or in combination with "he's awsome") unfortunately it's just the way it is...but fortunately it's done after that...

There was this boy/girl-group and one of the guys had to lie about his sexuality so that the little girls could keep on dreaming...I'm glad Adam never went through that. Being honest is the only fair way to oneself and others...

He probably didn't lie, but he did try to seem "normal", as you can see in this wonderful interview from May 2016, about his sexuality, learning to understand it, and finally coming out...... which I think every Glambert should see.

"IT GOT BETTER"...featuring Adam Lambert.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bb9wV9BZA4

This charming and honest interview is part of a series of interviews with LGBT celebrities.
